This Juneteenth, we stand in solidarity with African peoples.
This Juneteenth, we not only celebrate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, but stand in solidarity with the ongoing struggle for Black social, economic, and political power. Racial justice, climate justice, and animal justice are all inextricably intertwined; none can be properly realized without the others. Embracing intersectionality in our advocacy efforts as animal rights activists is therefore not only the right thing to do, but also a vital necessity if our goal truly is to build a world where all animals live safe, happy, and free.
40 states. 37 countries. 2-½ years.
Dear friends:
We have noticed something remarkable.
Two weeks ago, we tabulated every state in which we had at least one person on our mailing list only to discover we have a foothold in 40 states.
This week, we have something even more incredible to report.
Discover all the countries in which at least one person is on our mailing list below!
Nearly 250 people RSVPed to our GUNDA screening!
In the span of just three months, we have held four events with over 100 RSVPs, culminating in the nearly 250 people who RSVPed to our screening of GUNDA, the latest animal rights documentary to hit the big screen. People from over a dozen different countries RSVPed to this event with a total of over 1.1k people marking “going or “interested,” making our event page the most popular of its kind on Facebook and possibly the largest screening in the world outside GUNDA’s worldwide premier. This string of massive successes demonstrates that, even in the midst of the worst pandemic in over 100 years and a global economic downturn, we have grown resilient enough to thrive no matter what obstacles we encounter.
We have supporters across the country and around the world!
This #FundraisingFriday, we have a surprise for you: we have at least one supporter on our mailing list in 40 US states! More amazingly still, we have supporters on our mailing list from 29 different countries. 40 states. 29 different countries. We are succeeding in building the grassroots movement it will take to topple the trillion-dollar animal abuse industry from its pedestal of tyranny, but we need your support more than ever. Learn more about how you can help below!
Our first annual Give STL Day campaign exceeded expectations!
This #FriendlyFriday, our team at Project Animal Freedom would like to thank all the kindhearted donors who pulled together just in time to help us reach our Give STL Day goal. Not only did we meet our $500 goal, but, together, we blew past that goal, raising $612. Thanks to a generous donor, all $612 will be doubled, bringing our cash haul to $1,224. This is enough money to sustain roughly two months of operations at Project Animal Freedom, buying us precious time as we continue hurtling down the highway in a hair-raising race against time.
This May 1st, we participated in a global day of action
A massive, heartfelt thank you to all the activists who joined us yesterday as part of the first international, coordinated campaign to dramatize the connection between animal exploitation and pandemic diseases like COVID-19. Over 50 cities around the world participated in this global day of action, and our team at Project Animal Freedom is grateful to have donated $500 to support this international campaign’s media outreach efforts, ensuring as many people as possible heard our message.
This Earth Day, we hosted our first annual Vegan Climate Summit!
Today, our team Project Animal Freedom would like to express our enormous gratitude toward all the phenomenal speakers, panelists, and other event attendees who joined us last night for our first annual Vegan Climate Summit. The outpouring of support we received for this event is truly heart-stirring and a dream come true. We hope you not only enhanced your knowledge by attending this event, but also renewed your inspiration to continue fighting, no matter how daunting the odds. Missed this event? Watch the recording on this news post or our Project Animal Freedom YouTube channel!
Today, we held our first annual Vegan Climate March!
A massive, heartfelt thank to the the twelve tenacious activists who joined us for our first annual Vegan Climate March! We marched boldly toward the arch, chanting slogans specific to this event. Unlike other marches that more directly challenge animal cruelty in factory farms, slaughterhouses, and other animal-abusing institutions, bystanders received us so positively, one young girl and her mom enthusiastically ran up to us to get her picture with us! A special thanks to Mike for being our point person and arriving early, Hera an Al Gerber for skipping church to join us, Jw and Joshua for taking the bus all the way to downtown St. Louis to join us, Elvia for being a remarkably compassionate soul, Mikey for believing in us, Tyler for joining us for the first time, and Jenna, John, and Gabe Luzynski for making our Executive Director’s work as a full-time activist possible!
Today, we secured our first major interview!
This afternoon, it was our profound honor to be interviewed by Lindsey Baker on Jane Unchained News about our first annual Vegan Climate Summit. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity, and we would like to encourage you to join us next Thursday, April 22nd, from 7-10 p.m. CST as we celebrate Earth Day, vegan style! Climate change is the greatest existential threat facing all animalkind, but there is still time to avert catastrophic climate change and prevent complete ecosystem collapse. Join us for this riveting, hope-filled event as we chart a bold path forward into a just, sustainable future. What are you waiting for? Register now!
Today, we formally embraced our updated strategic goals
As we enter the second quarter of the year, our team at Project Animal Freedom would like to announce that we have developed a more effective campaign structure that no longer revolves around monthly educational campaigns, but rather larger, more substantive quarterly campaigns that directly reflect our core strategic goals as an organization.
This March 7th, we made history!
On Sunday, March 7th this month, we made history; after two years and five months of promising we would open our first-ever chapter outside St. Louis by our third year of existence, we have finally succeeded, seven months ahead of schedule.
This Valentine’s Day, we united nearly 50 people!
Following a strong marketing campaign, we received 91 registrations for our first annual Midwest Vegan Speed Dating extravaganza! Just over half these people elected to swallow their anxiety, take their chances, and connect with vegans from across the Midwest. Despite a few technical issues, almost everyone enjoyed themselves, and the overall experience was deeply heartwarming; many of our participants had never participated in a speed dating event, yet alone one that featured all and only vegans!
Last Saturday, we held our first-ever #FishFreeFebruary demonstration
Thank you to the spectacular seven activists who joined us for our first-ever #FishFreeFebruary demonstration! We not only reached an estimated 1,800 passersby with our message, but we also launched our first-ever corporate campaign against Whole Foods!
We just received a $1,000 check for Gateway to Compassion Fest!
Project Animal Freedom has just secured its third sponsorship for Gateway to Compassion Fest thanks to Garrett Paper Inc, bringing us within $1,000 of having enough money to finally book our venue! Learn more about Garrett Paper and our remaining funding need for Gateway to Compassion Fest below:
Meet our new Vice President, Cat Lopez!
Our team at Project Animal Freedom would like to introduce you to our newest board member and our new Vice President, Cat Lopez!
Last Monday, we inaugurated our new board for the 2021-2024 season
At our first member meeting of the year on January 4th, we not only discussed our strategic plan for building a fully vegan Midwest by 2056, but also voted to confirm our 2021-2024 slate of officers. Congratulations to Tavon Brooks, Heidi Gotway, Jenna Luzynski, John Luzynski, Amanda Williams, Allyson Duffin-Dalton, and Kyle Luzynski on your election to the board!
Yesterday, we hosted our second annual March for Mercy
We would like to thank the exemplary eight activists who joined us the morning of January 1st in the cold, icy weather here in St. Louis. Your compassion for animals and passion for our mission of building a fully vegan Midwest by 2056 spur us onward as an organization. Thank you for helping us begin the year in style, advocating for a vitally important yet oft-overlooked cause; let’s transform St. Louis into a gateway to compassion!
Yesterday, we celebrated Vegmas
Hello, friends! This is Kyle the Vegan Jedi on behalf of Project Animal Freedom. Yesterday reflected the culmination of our third annual #ChistmasOfCompassion campaign. I would like to reflect on the significance of this holiday season for our team, our members, and, most importantly, the nonhuman animal victims we strive to aid.
This Wednesday, we revived our Animal Lovers Book Club
At Project Animal Freedom, we are proud to officially relaunch our book club! Unlike the past, this group will no longer be constrained to St. Louis region; we are broadening our focus to include the entire Midwest by maintaining the online format of this group. As such, you can now expect better attended meetings, more thought-provoking conversations featuring a diversity of perspectives, and an overall improved consolidation of our collective animal rights knowledge.
This year, we exceeded our GivingTuesday goal
Our team at Project Animal Freedom would like to commend everyone who donated to our GivingTuesday campaign. It is essential kind, compassionate people donate to our cause to make our next year of activism possible, and we are very fortunate our supporters’ generosity helped us raise over $1,000 this GivingTuesday!
